I think a flop single will almost be better for Katy.

Her label seem to pandering to radio and deliberately making her make songs to be as relatable to everyone as possible, at the expense of quality, just to achieve #1's because that is "her thing".

If this doesn't go #1 and with that pressure removed, I think the remainder of the campaign will benefit greatly; more controversial performances and imagery as well as single choices because what do they have to lose? Her MJ/personal #1 streak is broken.

I can smell a discount and or remix just before the holidays... Capitol, their tactics! she better have a stripped solo guitar with raw vocals duet with John Mayer and this will surely go up in the charts!

It's Katy's fave song from PRISM Your other plan totally goes against the mantra of Katy and the album at this point.

Sadly, it's not what I would prefer but seeing as TOY is her lowest charting single and Wide Awake & TOTGA not reaching #1 like the rest of the TD songs makes me feel like she even if she tries to release music with true meaning the GP will pay her dust my poor baby can't even prove herself


That being said, "Dark Horse", "Legendary Lovers", "Birthday" and "Walking On Air" are the obvious choices for singles.

California Gurls, Last Friday Night & Teenage Dream were all fun, free spirited and catchy which is classic Katy. "Part Of Me" an upbeat/dance song that came out on the peak of it's sound. "E.T", another up/midtempo radio friendly as **** song that was different for Katy but still infectious as all of her previous singles minus TOY.

"TOTGA" and "WA" are pop songs just as the other 6 but I feel like the lyrics are not for everyone.

They were still super successful though, no doubt it but of course they would since they were follow ups to other successful singles.
