IMO it has more to do with how well connected fans are today. EVERYONE knows when albums are released through social networking. Whereas decades ago you really didn't know until you heard the music on the radio.

True. I should have worded it right. Everyone knowing when an album will be released, explains why first week sales stayed stable and really dropping in the upcoming weeks. I'm actually going to be more impressed if ID can do 200K+ in the second week than 500K+ in the first.
