I was dragged to this today... Slightly sceptical but I hadn't been to the cinema for a while. So I went.
Anyway, really impressed! So much so that I went home and watched the first (which was unfortunately a major downgrade but still entertaining). The film was really well done in nearly every way. Great acting, effortlessly paced and structured, always interesting, great visuals and effects.
I mean, you can tell it's an adapted screenplay because there are obviously rushed scenes, very sudden ending and a clear lack of character development. But at nearly 2 and a half hours what more can you do. It didnt feel that long.
Katniss is such an interesting character that Im tempted to read the books just to see how Collins writes her.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opened to a massive $70.5 million on Friday, which is a bit ahead of the first movie's $67.3 million opening day. Overall, it ranks seventh all-time. For the weekend, it's now guaranteed to earn at least $145 million, and could make it as high as $160 million.

Jennifer's interpretation of Katniss is so faithful to how she is in the books. The books are great! The first is amazing, the second is the best, the third is my least fav.
I just went and saw the movie and I want to see it again, because it's just that good. JLaw's acting is incredible, especially that elevator scene and all the time she cried during the movie. The action was intense! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time when the games started.
I can't wait for Mockingjay Part 1 to come out next year. It's going to be so good I know it.
I really enjoyed the film. I shouldn't say its better than the first one since both are good. There was some scenes that I was shocked like
Cinna, District 11 salute, and Mags Death
made me go breathless like with no words. Well it had a good concept and had a message to be brave. However the ending was good.
had a taste of Mockingjay
So great follow-up to the first film!

But yes sis go read the books! Katniss is one of my favorite characters I've read. She's such a bitch to everyone and I love it.
just saw it it was amazing, j-law's acting was spot on. can't think of any actress that can pull off katniss' character tbh. and there's too many goosebumps moments in the movie. im probs going to see it again next week
... Really didn't like that.
