That isn't shade... That's simply her saying that while she enjoyed the music of these artists, she could not relate to it because she isn't as rich as them. If anything, it's self shade.
And obviously their music doesn't apply to 16 year olds and people in her age groups. They're in their late 20s, are celebrities and have lavish lifestyle. OBVIOUSLY they're going to write about fame and what they know. But not all their music is like that though.
Lana Del Rey is probably more relatable out of the three tbh.
She is just saying she didn't relate to their music...which isn't surprising to be honest, music should speak to different people differently, it should be interpreted differently according to an individuals life experiences, dreams and open-mindedness, there is often more to a song than appears on first listen. If Lorde can't read that in the music of those artists then why is she listening to them though? It obviously just isn't her cup of tea, it doesn't make the music bad for other people.
She had some Lana quotes on her Instagramm from Young & Beautiful and American.
Drake, Nicki and Lana can stay unbothered., Why should they be interested in what she thinks of them?
All she says that lyrics about endless money etc. is kind of irrelevant to an average person amd she is surprised that so many people can relate to it when it's so different from their lifestyle
