This proves nothing. Sales for those consoles would most likely be higher if more were produced and available for purchase. Consoles like the Wii were intentionally shipped in low quantities in order to create more of a demand for it at launch. If it had shipped over 2 million units, it would have sold out just as easily. However, since these consoles are going head to head it's clear that they are fighting for the numbers in order to get more developers and gamers on board so that they can quickly become the go-to console for game development. This is especially critical for these two consoles since Microsoft is at risk of losing that title to the cheaper Sony hardware.
What I want to see is the software numbers. That will give us the true tea.
Luckily the Xbox One doesn't require games to be useful, as it is an all around home entertainment system.
People are forgetting how hated the One is on the internet and how much bad PR they had leading up to the release. Not to mention the $100 difference which is really big.
It's amazing that they've been able to pull these numbers. I won't even be bothered if PS4 sells more (which it will). This just proves the POWER of the Xbox name!
