It's a video for a promo single for a free mixtape. What did you expect TBH?
But put that aside, the concept of the video and the way they put it together in the B&W version is more artistic than trying to be a mainstream pop girl and it's pretty much the way it should be, esp' considering the song itself. It's also was her way to show her fans how she grew as a singer and an artist with those free mixtapes in a time she couldn't put out proper music like any other singers.
So you're not suppose to see a big star there, you suppose to see an artist.
