EXACTLY what I was thinking about today while listening to WIR. Soulful, R&B vibes are just emitted out of her so naturally whereas country tones seem forced. Her friends are a bad influence.

Her version of HYAMLC is probably my favorite version of the song ever. Her phrasing on it is just so perfect
Yea PCHFC is my favorite along with WIR and EC. Her vocals are amazing throughout the whole album though. It all sounds so genuine and so much how she sounds live.

No, only cause I personally think Kelly doesn't have a "Country" voice, except maybe on Mrs. Right.
Her actual released Country songs (Don't Rush, Tie it Up, Blue Christmas) are all soulful. Which is probably why she's yet to have success in the genre.
Her voice is definitely not country despite the accent which is why her singing soulfully on a twangy country hick production is so goddamn irritating. Give me a UTTM, Respect, Natural Woman album Kelly.

So two songs. And it's no wonder MKIA is her most successful solo country song. The only one that's current and country sounding.

I think Kelly can honestly sing every genre (except maybe metal). Idk. She kind of has an universal voice.

Jesus Christ. That would be some Adele level slayage. But since the public has pigeon holed her as a rocker chick with anthems and cuz she isn't the most creative artist, I doubt the material given to her will be written with Aretha in mind. IF Kelly manages to find her way into doing this, that album will become her golden album. The tides are turning in the music scene and who better to pave the way for our music to head towards a more Soul/R&B direction? Not only will she be seen as a trend setter but think of all the critical acclaim AND sales.
