Shakira revealed in a new interview more about the direction of her ucoming studio album

What do you mean by going back to a simpler, more pure sound?
Shakira: I figured how to make songs again with attitude, more rock and roll sounding, the kind of sound I first began experimenting with during the first stage of my musical career. Of course, evolving and hopefully making progress. I am happy with this (new) material. It took me some time to reach it, with some interruptions, the pregnancy.

She also mentioned Gerard as a inspiration for some of her songs to a Mexican network.

I don't know why she invests so much time in writing and creating all these new songs that she has no intention of ever performing live.
It's like "I'm so proud of this album that I'm going to name my tour after it and then turn around and perform 'Ciega Sordomuda', 'Inevitable', and 'Si Te Vas.' Oh, you want me to perform my latest single 'Rabiosa' that was just released while I'm on tour? Nah, I'mma perform 'Si Te Vas'..... lawlllll"
