I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem...

So basically I have some songs by artists that I have on my iTunes (and iPod- synced) but they're under no album because I only wanted the one song from the album. Let's use Genie in a Bottle and WooHoo by Xtina as an example.

The songs are both track "1 of 1", disc "1 of 1" and the album field is blank, as is the album artist field. Basically I want these songs to show up in my songs list but not in my albums list, because they are individual songs.

Last week I synced my iPod and these two songs have appeared in my album list under "Christina Aguilera" with the two songs making up the album. When I click on the album the title comes up as "unknown album", yet in the album list it's still there...

My problem is that this has happened with multiple songs, each coming up under the artist's name as unknown albums, cluttering up my album list.

Anyone know what's going on?

I dont have that problem but sometimes my album covers get messed up

And the other morning my songs were starting over after i unlocked my phone...

I haven't had that problem yet but it seems like the latest update fixed the problems I did have..for now

That's not an issue.

On the old updates it used to put them in "Unknown Album" which meant any song that didn't have an album attached to it would end up at the end of your album list under Unknown Album and it was extremely messy.

In iOS 6.1 there was a glitch that would stop your song coming up in albums if they had no album attached to them. On my iPad 1 which is stopped at iOS 5.1 songs go into Unknown Album. Songs not coming up is bad because you lose access to your songs that way, and people were probably complaining that songs were missing from the device, when they weren't.

But now it's cleaning things up by using the artists name as secondary album titles. It's a cleaner way.

I just don't understand why you would want no access your songs when you search by album. It's the quickest way to a group songs is you have a lot of them.

I've had to put them into a compilation called 'Various' just to tidy up my album list!

If it's just one song from an album/artist, I'd rather not have it take up space on the album list messy!

I suppose. For me, I just put the artist as the album name if I have various random songs from that one artist. I don't want songs to not appear when I'm looking through but that's just me

sometimes when i sync songs they end up under the "r" category when they don't begin with r

like sippin on sunshine, give you like what u like by avril lavigne and swine is under "r"

Everytime I unlock my phone, music pauses for a second.

Sometimes my music skips back a second when I unlock my ipod

I think ios 7.0.4 fixed that though

I have a capitalisation glitch which I can't fix.

In my iTunes library, it says "ARTPOP". On my iPod, it says "Artpop".
In my iTunes library, it says "Lorde". On my iPod, it says "LORDE".
In my iTunes library, it says "Adele". On my iPod, it says "ADELE".

Yet in my iTunes library, it says "PRISM", and on my iPod, it says "PRISM". I have a feeling that it's got something to do with memorising what the first sync saved it as upon upgrading to iOS 7 (I had the artists as LORDE and ADELE in my iTunes for a brief time, but I can't ever remember having ARTPOP as Artpop). It's so odd, and annoying to my OCD.

I had the same problem but fixed it today. Click on the song individually and go to 'get info' then 'sorting'. I had downloaded the albums from a certain website beginning with 'r' so the website name was coming up under 'sort name' causing all the songs from that album to appear under 'r' in songs. Just delete whatever is written in the 'sort name' field and your problem should be fixed. You have to do this individually for the songs though because it doesn't work by highlighting all the songs in the album at once and editing info.
