She's right about the competitive aspect of the industry and how people have gotten obsessive over charts and sales and forgotten about the music itself BUT it was not only random but wrong to just blatantly go after Billboard, especially when they understood ARTPOP better than most critics.
I wont defend this. She has a good heart and good intentions. And of course, I'll always be here to support her. I will say when she's wrong, though.
I don't think she's overreacting.. what she said wasn't even really rude. Specifically targeting BB was because they've done nothing to her. But she's rightfully upset over the media coverage. I mean what has she done to these people to deserve this? No one is forcing them to look at her/listen to her music, if they don't like why bother writing those headlines about her? They're not constructive. They're not informative. They're just hurtful. Yes, every famous person is targeted by the media at some point, but that doesn't make it not hurt for gaga, and it most certainly does not make it right. She's calling out the media for their actions not only against her but against artists in general.

She didn't randomly pick on Billboard though. They tweeted about her lashing back at the critics yet again and she tweeted to them that they were included. I don't think she specifically meant about Billboard doing it to her but generally.
She shouldn't have called out Billboard. This reminds me of when she called out Calvin Harris on Twitter + she ended up looking kinda bitchy since his comment wasn't recent and was taken out of context. Oh Gaga.

then her album gets trashed by critics
then its opening numbers get trashed by everyone
all she sees is the negative headlines not accepting what she is selling
even on her own site she sees monsters asking her to do more promo
like I feel she needs to go on a break even though the era barely started

a break won't help. if she takes another long break i feel she'll turn into Christina. she needs to keep at it, churning out what could be a hit and hope one works & she becomes likeable to the GP again. it'd be best for her image if she pretended that nothing was wrong but as she keeps trying to remind us, she is a human being, not a machine that can just shut her feelings off.
