Justin Bieber Compares Himself to Michael Jackson AGAIN !
In his first in-depth interview in nine months, Justin Bieber has opened up to The Hollywood Reporter during a candid chat, alongside his long-time manager, Scott 'Scooter' Braun
The 19-year-old popstar, who these days finds himself in the press more for his wild antics than for his music, insists he couldn't care less what the public's perception is and he's not about to change his ways and conform just because that's what is expected of him.
'I don't give a f***,' he begins, before elaborating. 'Not "I don't give a f***" to just be reckless and do whatever, but "I don't give a f*** what they say." I know who I am and what I'm doing in my life and what I've accomplished and continue to accomplish as a performer, as a writer, as an artist, as a person, as a human being. I'm happy with the man I'm becoming.'
With a rap sheet of recent bad behaviour including urinating in a hotel mop bucket, insulting former president Bill Clinton, being pictured emerging under a sheet from a Brazilian brothel and spitting on fans - which Scooter insists wasn't in fact the case - the 32-year-old admits he's realised as the star gets older and the pair's dynamic changes that he has to let him make his own mistakes.
He also reveals there came a point where it was futile to address all the rumours surrounding the star, so the decision was made to say nothing at all.
'The rumours were coming so fast and furious that we couldn't address all of them, Scooter explains. 'Say whatever the f*** you want. Justin's not going to go crazy. He's not going to end up in rehab. He's not going to end up a statistic. Nine months ago, they said he lost his mind - he hasn't missed a show since. So we're just going to shut up.
Justin isn't short of A-list support willing to help keep him on the straight and narrow in this crazy pressure-cooker industry.
Counting Drake as a close friend - 'They have an extremely special relationship,' says Scooter - and Will Smith as a mentor, he's also had the likes of Eminem, Oprah Winfrey, Adam Levine and Mark Wahlberg reaching out through Scooter to counsel him.
With so much already accomplished at such a young age with only two full-length studio albums under his belt, Bieber insists he's far from peaking and has 'all the time in the world' to win Grammys and cement his place in history alongside his idols.
'Michael Jackson didn't do Off The Wall until he was about 23,' he explains of the King Of Pop's 1979 debut solo album. 'Bad, not until he was, like, 25 [he was actually 29]. I have all the time in the world.'
He isn't necessarily comparing himself to Michael though. He is saying that many artists, Michael Jackson for example, don't make their best work into later into their careers.
Lol @ y'all running in here to slander him w/o even reading the article and making a comment without a bias.
