Initial impressions: Young in America - fun
Wild Boy - some pretty bits
Forget You - lotsa potential
Endless Summer - okay
Talk About Love - okay
Never Like This - Pretty humming, the singing is a bit strained
Daughter - Screechy and cliched
Dance Hall - I really like the lyrics. It’s cute and sweet.
Yellin’ - Too loud.
My Day - Forgettable.
Dance Hall needs to be a single, and then choose from Young in America/Wild Boy/Forget You depending on how many singles deep her album sales are worth. I wish she wouldn't have had Heart of Dixie at all, but w/e.
Sample lyrics from Dance Hall, which reminds me a bit of TS's Tim McGraw: You could say there's not much here for us/Nothing but a pile of dirt and dust
But baby we could string the stars over these corn stalks/And we could turn your truck into an old jukebox
Just take my hand and baby we could fall/Let's turn this open field into an old dancehall
No neon signs, no barroom fights/Just you and me in these headlights
Two stepping in our rolled-up Levi jeans/There ain't no band playing Rambling Man
No cowboys kicking old beer cans/Just a couple Cherry Cokes and a mixed CD
It's interesting that it's the only song with writers who aren't well-known enough to have Wikipedia pages...
