No its not, thank goodness my parents sent me to a private. The public schools in NYC are not the best, and the good ones lack so much diversity that just Asians go there.

Where I'm from, basically private and public are the same thing except private costs an arm and a leg while public is free. I think public schools are more efficient too.

I've been to a private school. I've been home-schooled. And I currently attend a public school. My public school is one of the best in the nation, so I can say I've had a great experience, but I know that's not the same for all public schools. Especially the ones in Chicago.
