The only Rihanna album you can actually say that for is
Unapologetic, she's never shied away from the fact she doesn't write a lot of her material before that.
Maybe you mistook her for another famous black singer, idk.
But I also noticed the lack of 'hit' songs. All the ones with folk influences might stand a chance but I don't think the stadium tracks would do much.
