I'm not a Little Monster or a Katy Cat.

I think that Katy is definetly the better writer. People are judging them by their singles. Just dig deep in their albums.

I mean Choose Your Battles, It Takes Two, Love Me, Double Rainbow and By The Grace of God have a place in my heart right now, because they're really well written and are beautiful.

I can't relate to ARTPOP in any way, and I love the album's sound and style.

Moreover Katy doesn't take herself or her music very seriously and Gaga does, which makes it even more embarrassing.

Rarely anything Gaga writes makes actual sense.

Katy wins in terms of being relatable. She's not particularly clever, but the scope of her music doesn't really make you think it needs to be, whereas Gaga is so weird and over the top her lyrics always seem to be the downfall of her songs because they're almost never up to par with the rest of the song.

This. I think Prism and Artpop are both girls' weakest offerings to date (Katy's lyrics are filled with cliches, Gaga's are so out there that they're just ridiculous) but at least Katy's generic lyrics make sense and are relatable.

Also, Katy at her best (Unconditionally, Thinking Of You) is a lot better than Gaga at her best (Paparazzi, Speechless).

"Choose Your Battles" is miles better than Bad Romance, though it was written by three people instead of two. And it doesn't have the catchy gimmicks Bad Romance has. Or the promotion. Or the airplay.

Katy Perry wasn't anything spectacular in the songwriting department but she definitely was a better one before she threw that all out the window and sold her soul in Teenage Dream era.

Lady Gaga....she's a hit or a miss. You can tell when she's throwing cool-sounding words in the pot for the hell of it (ex. Venus, Applause) or when she really means it (Speechless, Poker Face).

Not you coming for the only diamond certificated single by a female with this WEAK shade. Bad Romance's 'catchy grimmicks'' as you said are more memorable than any katy song.

Do you listen to any music that you don't speak the language of? Because that logic would exclude all foreign music just because you can't understand them, thus missing out much great music just because they don't have relatable lyrics.
