The points I was trying to make are (1) leaks are not always by random people, (2) for that reason, Bey/her team might be releasing information on the low, (3) this pleases die hard fans who are literally going through a drought right now, and (4) it allows Bey/her team the ability to test the waters.
SotS + GW weren't performed on tour necessarily just to please fans. She wanted to see reactions to two songs that are very different to each other and the responses more than likely helped her in deciding what direction she wanted to go in for the album.
I brought up 4 because I feel like she doesn't want a repeat of the last era and one of the ways to prevent that is to test reactions.
Anyway, I am excited to hear this song. I hope it makes the album and, if it doesn't, oh well.
