"I don't think she was speaking directly about [Minaj]," Cannon told Access Hollywood. "I think she was talking about the situation in general. In her mind, it's bigger than that. If my wife wanted to [call Minaj Satan], she would've said that. She has no problem [saying] how she feels!"
Though, according to Cannon, it was the addition of Minaj as a fourth judge that started Carey and Idol off on a bad foot, since she was supposed to be the only female judge. "[Mariah] was like, 'You said it was going be this, and then it turned out to be this.' From that point on, it was just bad," Cannon said.
It's nice to know that Nick doesn't think that she was talking about Nicki when she mentioned working with Satan. With him saying that, I wonder if she just did not like the environment of American Idol all that well? (Thus, Satan = Idol, the job itself). It'd be understandable I suppose... She was lied to and I obviously could tell throughout the entire season that she was very bitter about it.
Nicki already stated these facts along with Mariah being an insecure woman (which mimi confirmed on hot97) last year on twitter right when the feud started.
But mess. It's sad my boo primarily took her frustrations out on Nicki instead of on the producers. It wasn't Nicki's fault the producers broke their promise. Mariah should've either made the best of the situation or just left, rather than bringing it down. We would have had a much better season that way.
Oh well. Hopefully everyone involved can move on already. Hopefully the two will reconcile.
