You say "playback" as if she's lip syncing... The only backing vocals are during the prechorus when she isn't singing at all, and the harmonies in the chorus.
I don't think live backing singers would work well with Lorde's music due to the fact that so much of it is structured around simple beats and her vocal, her harmonies, and layering. It just wouldn't sound proper unless the live backup singers could emulate Lorde's vocal tone.
Must you perch and spread your pressedness all over every single one of Lorde's threads tho? If you don't like her, stay out.
