Gaga's image was most definitely tarnished during the BTW era, in regards to the general public. However, I think it is foolish to say that she will completely flop with ARTPOP. She is too massive to simply die down with one flop era. I am a Britney stan, but I can recognize the success and impact that Gaga has had.

I do feel that if ARTPOP doesn't do well, she will only continue to decline. Again though, it's all a waiting game.

And Adele is NOT going to fade like Norah Jones.

All while not looking at the deeper meaning of all of it and why it's a big deal that on her second album people were already tired of her and moving on.

The damage BTW did with the GP isn't going to be easily fixable. Some already have their opinion on her and it's not going to easily change.

Maybe things will turn around, noone says they won't/can't but it's not relevant to the fact that right now, she doesn't matter in the music industry and that BTW failed to live up to expectations, which is what this topic is about.

Exactly.People don't get that although the era as a whole looks objectively successful when you look at the numbers,MOST of that success came from the initial period,which was because of the hype generated due to previous eras.The era in itself hasn't helped her career AT ALL,since the very beginning.It just deteriorated everything for her.
It was the album that had to decide whether she was going to retain the position she had so quickly earned in the pop world,and well,it did.It's nearly impossible to recover now.
