Movie: 'Saw 8' Currently Being Developed by Lionsgate

While there’s nothing official on paper, nor a direction set in stone, Lionsgate is incredibly active in developing an eighth Saw, based on the franchise created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell, sources tell Bloody Disgusting exclusively.

The last time we saw Jigsaw in action was in the 2010 Saw 3D.

After a three year break, Lionsgate is back to their torturous ways and seeking a new direction for the franchise that took over Halloween for nearly a decade. Since its exit, Paranormal Activity has become the reigning champion of the month of October (sans this year).

There appears to be no rush on Lionsgate’s part as they’re seeking the perfect take to move forward. There were rumblings of a remake, while many insiders tell us they want to continue with Saw 8.

When something more solid comes into fruition, we’ll report back.

Finally. I've been waiting for Saw 8 for years. The Saw franchise isn't the best but the series can go on for a little bit longer.

It's the Eighth Installment though. Its been on a Hiatus since 2010.

The story was actually really pretty good until Saw 3D, which was abysmal, ruined one of the last remaining enjoyable characters and inserted a twist that made next to no sense. If they do a Saw 8, they really need to fix the mess that the last one left because honestly it should have ended on a much higher note than it did.

Mess at three years without the eighth film in a series counting as a hiatus. Anyway this series was dead a long time ago and the fact that a remake of a ten year old film is even being considered is factual evidence of Hollywood running out of ideas.

I'm glad to hear it to be honest. Saw is disgusting, but it's actually one of my favourite franchises.
