That's false. Neither Pakistan nor India were ever countries until 1947 when the British granted independence and partitioned the land to make them. Before Asia was colonized, South Asia was made of hundreds of different kingdoms with different ethnic groups. That's why Indians speak so many different languages and some look so different. The colonized land was just lumped together and then after independence, they were kept together except for land in the north and east (Pakistan and now Bangladesh) so Muslims in those areas could get their own nation.

And most Pakistanis are ethnically the same as North Indians, but not other Indians. Zayn looks like the governor of North Carolina, but not Mindy Kaling.
