Avril Lavigne is a very consistent album with lots more standout tracks on top of that. It just works.
It shows the great points of Avril's recording career so far (17, Give You What You Like, Let Me Go) PLUS it also added something new that she has not done before (Hello Kitty etc.). It is a great combination of lots of elements but still works as an album. Artpop is nothing spectacular or different, it actually shows Gaga's weaknesses more than any of her albums before
