Orangenial Music
brought to you by a whole new sleep schedule and a whole new year!
Joan Jett - Bad Reputation
Source: ATRL's Ben / Freaks and Geeks
- Well, Ben did not technically recommend this song but he did always praise the show Freaks and Geeks. For the longest time I would want to check it out and yet never found a decent way to do so or forget about it. Well, I finally did it, and my gosh it really is a great series! I mean even the theme song is great! I love it when shows have starting sequences you can enjoy!
Swirl 360 - Candy In The Sun
Source: Never Been Kissed
- More NBK love! I honestly cannot remember this song, other than from the movie, so I thought it would be nice to mention it. Plus, Drew Barrymore is in the video!
Six songs that I feel like mentioning (in addition to the previous songs):
There is something about these songs... darn them.Alice Cooper - I'm Eighteen
Album: Love It to Death | Year: 1971
- Speaking of Freaks and Geeks, Guidance Counselor "Jeff" Rosso starts singing this in one of the episodes. Again, credit goes to Ben for mentioning the show so many times but wow, despite finding that moment so funny, I actually remembered this song. Granted, I do not know much by Alice Cooper (or at least know that I know) but I really could not let myself forget this song and had to mention it somewhere, and what better place to mention it than in my blog?
Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Thru This
Album: Gotta Get Thru This | Year: 2002
- One of the few songs that people know from Daniel Bedingfield, Natasha's brother. I am actually not too surprised that Natasha has been doing much better here than Daniel but I honestly cannot forget about the days I was obsessed with this song! Thanks to Sabrina, The Teenage Witch for reminding me, haha.
Jordin Sparks - Tattoo
Album: Jordin Sparks | Year: 2007
- I think I avoided listening to this song until I randomly saw a video for it and actually enjoyed it. I like the analogy a bit too! I would prefer AI to stop airing, so I tend to ignore everything automatically that is American Idol related.
Nelly Furtado - My Love Grows Deeper
Album: Whoa, Nelly! | Year: 2000
- I am so not singling out either part of this song. When looking at both parts of this song, there is a certain reminder of Aqeuous Transmission by Incubus. I do not know how else to say that this is probably one of my favorite songs by Nelly Furtado. Maybe even one of my favorite songs of all time?
Robyn - Show Me Love
Album: Sabrina, the Teenage Witch Soundtrack | Year: 1998
- Anyone remember this song? I totally forgot it until I saw this soundtrack. Wow, this is such an old song and I remember loving it back when it came out. I even enjoy it now! How I could forget it can probably be explained by how I forget everything... and how back in the 90s, I rarely knew artists/song titles
Sara Bareilles - Love Song
Album: Little Voice | Year: 2007
- I am not sure why I never got into this either. I mean, I like her voice and the music, so why did it take the commercial to get me to fully listen to it? I really wish I knew since this is a pretty good song. Even the video is cute! Either way, if you have not tuned into VH1 to randomly hear this, or seen the Rhapsody commercials, I suggest you check it out and judge the song yourself!
The new year has been going pretty well for me. I have started on my resolutions and they are looking pretty good. I am just waiting for school to start back up... actually, I would much rather have a job, but we will see what ends up happening. No matter what, this is the year to conquer and sort of start a road that I shall be following for years to come. That is, until I am ready to just stop and settle, wherever/whenever that may be. Anyway, may everyone have a great weekend/week!
