This is obviously rigged. She looks basic, and looks just like the other Venezuelan winners. I was rooting for the others, like Ms. Dominican Republic, The Philippines, and Brazil. And Great Britain looked like a walking barbie, surprised she didn't win.

Africa won 2 years ago. And Asia has been winning the other international beauty pageants this year. When will Europe?

What's wrong with that? Beauty pageants are just stepping stone to whatever career these women want to pursue later on in their life. Majority of past winners from different international beauty pageants have gone on to be successful in different fields. Some became politicians, actresses and even a musician like Priyanka Chopra.

None of the past beauty pageant winners has been particularly successful musicians. Some have tried it like the past Miss Universe from the Dominican Republic and Miss World from Ireland from what I can recall but both of them have not had lasting career. Priyanka Chopra is so far the most successful among the beauty titlist who ventured out into film and music. Beauty pageants are just platforms for these women to make headway into whatever field of endeavor they would want to pursue but talent and skill would still be required to make them stay there.

I don't understand how using beauty pageants as platforms to dream careers is a bad thing either. Participating in one doesn't magically give contestants record deals or modeling contracts. You can gain exposure and maybe cash prizes. If a contestant uses her exposure to get herself out there, how is it any different from Esmee using the Internet to do the same?
