Not you guys worried about using your $500+ PS4 or X-Box to play your content and crap. Just plug your Portable HDD into your TV directly and play it. Why do you need a console when TV's can do it? Music too.
As for apps like Youtube, Netflix and stuff, you can buy Apple TV which keeps everything secure for like $105 if you're really concerned.
You guys are a mess. I mean sure my PSP can play movies on the go, do I load it up? No. I use an iPad that's actually designed for movies on the go.
Since a 500GB hard rive sets you back like $80 nowadays, you can plug it directly into your TV. Sorted.
Sony are focusing on Games which is why most of their $$ is spent making the games better than everyone else.
Or would you rather Sony focus on watching movies, and mp3 compatibility and you get 720p games as well just to be a "media hub" like the XB1?

That's a whole bunch of extra work when other consoles can stream video files directly from your computer without having to even get up to plug any harddrive in.
