Yeah. I never understood why she was considered a gay icon simply because she sung about gay elements. She's always been a supporter for any oppressed group of individuals, not just the gay community. I can see and completely understand why some consider her a gay icon. I just consider her an active fighter for the gay community. She's an icon in the making IF anything.
