Today, M.I.A. releases her already-lauded fourth LP Matangi. After a series of delays – some spawned by her ongoing label woes, and some sparked by her own run-ins with the likes of the NFL – the album that features production from Hit-Boy, Switch, Danja, as well as guest vocals from The Weeknd, finally sees the light of day.
And while the LP has seen its fair share of push-backs, Matangi happens to drop on the same day as another Interscope legend, Eminem, someone who M.I.A. claims to be a big fan of. In REVOLT’s brief conversation with the singer at this year’s inaugural YouTube Music Awards, M.I.A. expressed her excitement about running into the self-proclaimed “Rap God” .
“I do want to meet Eminem… I kept missing him every time he walked past the trailer,” M.I.A. admitted before the show.
