Because everybody loves how free spirited and down to earth she is. Mary J Blige and Alicia Keys have commented on Rih's personality being one of the things they love about her. Wale and ASAP Rocky both praise how real she is and consider her a good friend now after collaborating.

Honestly though, I think the things that Katy Perry has said about Rihanna's character, are probably true. If so, coupled w/ above theory + Rihanna's work ethic, I'm not surprised she's "liked" by many.

Because she's not as off-putting and polarizing as someone like Gaga, while also not being as dreadfully inoffensive as someone like Katy.

She has the perfect personality where she comes off as likable and down to earth without seeming fake.

Also the fact that she's beautiful, noticeably talented, and has had a constant stream of hits since 2007, making it pretty impossible for anyone to not have at least one Rih song they love.
