America isn't as bad as people try and make it out to be.

I'm honestly surprised by the amount of positivity for America in this topic. I think that if I were to ask my friends the results would definitely be on the negative side of things. Maybe my group is more politically minded than all yours?

Most British people have likely never met an American so they base their opinions on what they see or hear

Also the fact that Bush and Blair agreed to the Iraq war which meant hundreds of thousands of our troops have been killed for no reason. I think nearly everyone knows someone whose lost a family member in the war. They are still in Afghanistan and Iraq fighting a war that has nothing to do with them

It's not Americans we hate per se its more the government and the establishment.

I'm sure a lot of people have their own gripes with the US, be it political, cultural or whatever, but to suggest that the UK hates the US is absurd. It isn't about being political minded because if that were the case there are grave faults to be found close to home as well.

A minority may hate the US for its faults, but it's likely that realists don't. Yes, they may disagree with some of the things they do, or dislike things such as aspects of their culture which have bled out into theirs, but it'd be rather blinked to hate them for it. I think that's why people are being positive.

I would say Germany is not really amused by Americans. Especially because Americans talk **** about Germans (like we are Nazis) but if someone would talk about Vietnam ...

The UK Skins is a well written show about young people in the UK tho, Honey Boo Boo is a ridiculous 'reality' show a group of idiotic nobodies are being paid millions to star in
