im not suprised by NYC vote... de blasio is so liberal... NYC is going to go crazy.... i'm kinda scared tbh. new york has had republicans for two decades and it helped with crime etc and its so much better here.. this guy only won not even going to say.

Christie was the best choice and our state is in a much better place than it was when Corzine was in office. Buono would've raised taxes like crazy. Christie is a very hands on guy who was great with everyone who lost homes in hurricane sandy, including myself.

i don't get why dems hate Charter schools seemingly. Yeah, it flies in the face of teacher's unions, but there's no reason a teacher should be guaranteed a job for life (minus unforgivable wrongs) because that screws up any incentive to excel at his/her job.

You're conflating two different issues. Teacher tenure and unions would still exist without charter schools. I was surprised to hear that for profit charters in NYC don't pay rent. If they're making money of their schools, they shouldn't be getting free office space. They gon' be paying now .

And you have to understand, public schools have to take all comers. Charters can dismiss students that are not the right "fit" for their school. Charters also tend to attract more motivated parents, whose kids and resources would be beneficial to public school environments. It's also debatable whether or not charters actually perform better than their public counterparts. Charter schools, like public schools tend to vary in quality.

Sorry but Christie is a terrible person in every way and the people of New Jersey are misinformed.
