While there’s nothing official on paper, nor a direction set in stone, Lionsgate is incredibly active in developing an eighth Saw, based on the franchise created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell, sources tell Bloody Disgusting exclusively.
The last time we saw Jigsaw in action was in the 2010 Saw 3D.
After a three year break, Lionsgate is back to their torturous ways and seeking a new direction for the franchise that took over Halloween for nearly a decade. Since its exit, Paranormal Activity has become the reigning champion of the month of October (sans this year).
There appears to be no rush on Lionsgate’s part as they’re seeking the perfect take to move forward. There were rumblings of a remake, while many insiders tell us they want to continue with Saw 8.
When something more solid comes into fruition, we’ll report back.
My favorite was Saw 2, especially with the Venus Fly Trap mechanism where the poor bloke had to dig his eyeballs to get the key. I screamed in the theater!!!
I really don't understand how the plot will work, but I hope they take their time and make it good. Saw 1, 2, and 3 are all amazing films. I think Saw would have been a highly acclaimed trilogy if left be, but they wanted to milk it of course. The other sequels aren't terrible (except maybe the last one ) but the series def went downhill.

Maybe this one will be a return to good form.
The last one was pure gore and less horror, I think Saw IV had the right amount of horror and gore.
Saw I - II - III we're really good, IV - V - VI we're entertaining but Saw 3D was a god damn mess, especially if you saw it in regular 2D, the traps we're really lame and concluded the series horribly. I'm here for a new one, but hopefully it's nothing like the last one. I need Darren Lynn Bousman to direct and James Wan & Leigh Whannell to come back as writers
the Saw movies are amazing. I'd love another movie as long as it has more effort than the last movie.
