Celeb News: Bart Simpson's touching tribute to Marcia Wallace

But that did not stop Bart writing a touching message to departed cast member Marcia Wallace at the beginning of Sunday night's edition of The Simpsons.
The schoolboy had written the words, 'we'll really miss you Mrs K,' on the chalkboard, referring to her famous schoolteacher character Edna Krabappel.

But while bosses at The Simpsons have decided to kill off her character, it will be a while yet before she disappears from screens as the veteran actress and comedienne recorded enough episodes to last another year.
The show's executive producer Al Jean said there was no one who could take her place on the show as Edna, who in recent years overcame her perennial loneliness by becoming the second wife of the Simpson family's neighbour Ned Flanders.
However there will be plenty of time for the show's writers to plot a suitably emotional exit for the beloved character, as the Fox series is produced so far in advance.
