I agree. I honestly find it hard to believe that 1D are going to open below 300k, or that "The Monster" will have a lower opening sales week than "Berzerk."
Wait. I just realized something. Both 1D and Eminem's songs are tied to pre-orders. I believe that both songs are selling a lot more than what Billboard are estimating, but Billboard aren't counting the sales coming from pre-orders. I assume the songs' sales will be counted in a similar fashion to CMA. Remember how "Hold On, We're Going Home", "Wrecking Ball", and "Roar" had big falls when their albums came out? It'll be the same thing with Eminem and 1D's songs. On a positive note, this should keep their songs' sales from falling too hard when their respective albums come out. I do think that Billboard should start publishing data on sales lost to CMA, or even incorporate it into digital songs data.
By this logic, Eminem's "top 10 debut" should turn into "contender for the Hot 100 #1 slot." Likewise, 1D "could debut in the top 10" will turn into "will debut in the top 5."
