do kats even have right to brag about 375k opening
If i recall Prism opened with 280k, that's not spectacular given how huge roar was.
at least BTW (album) sold 1m in first week with BTW (single) which is not even as huge as roar
You said something similar 3 pages back, and since then, none of the Katycats have said anything about ARTPOPs opening week, so please stop generalizing to one group when you all are getting it from all other groups as well.
Yeah The Fame, The Fame Monster, Just Dance, Poker Face, Bad Romance, The Edge Of Glory, Applause were sooo frontloaded
Her only frontloaded release were BTW (single + album) because they came after a massive hype (maybe the biggest hype in recent pop music history) which they didn't quite live up to + the album first week was boosted by the Amazon deal, kinda killing its longevity chances. It still sold 1.2 million after the first week, which is what an average Rihanna album sells in the US so hey.

Reality is Katy, after how massive the Teenage Dream era was, how massive Roar was, how massive her promo singles were, how massive her promo campaign was, should have been selling MORE than Gaga, who has a more moderate hit as a first single and isn't coming from her smash era but "an off-putting one where she alienated the general public". But this kinda proves Gaga is more of an album seller. I still praised her first week, since many albums debuted with less (P!nk, Bruno etc) and managed to become huge hits.
Those are also pre-release predictions, so they could end up being significantly higher OR lower, so let's just wait and see.
If you look at her career as a whole, instead of just BTW, she's not that front loaded, and the success of this release in the end will prove that to you all for good. Bookmark me.

PRISM opened with 286k and since her fans don't call her Album Artist they are satisfied with longevity and her amazing single sales.
ARTPOP is being dragged because her fans act like Gaga is an album seller and then when her sales are closer to Rihanna's, Katy's than to real album sellers like Taylor, Drake or Eminem they pull the 'Applause isn't a smash hit' excuse.
Besides, I don't understand why people are so bothered and on edge about industry predictions. The predictions people should be paying attention to are the ones we will get in a couple of weeks once it hits retail. A lot of these "drags" in here could backfire on a lot of people.
I think everyone should stop arguing - the numbers are solid and could change, and the album could have longevity - DWUW is setting up to be much bigger than Judas was, so that could and probably will help. Everyone needs to chill
