I admire his point, and I definitely agree with his hostility towards politics... but if you look underneath his corny jokes and extensive unnecessary words, he can't offer an alternative at all. All Paxman was trying to do was delve a little deeper, (which may have come across agressively) but Brand got too defensive.
He's going to influence young people... but in the wrong way. Giving up the vote would not result in a better situation. If he had presented his views differently he would earn mine, and a lot more people's respect!

He has an abundance of knowledge on politics. The idea of not voting being ignorant is only backed up by assuming the person doesn't 'care', but that's clearly not the case here. He doesn't vote because if anything, he cares too much and wants another alternative presented to him.
Don't twist his intentions. They're not to get the world to not vote, that's nit picking at the one thing he's doing to maybe bring more attention to all the other ******** that's going on day in and day out with the government. It'll inspire a group of thinkers that may not vote and may force the hand of the government to give them another option, because the old way doesn't work anymore, no matter who you vote for. He's standing up for a LOT more than not voting.
How can Russell Brand offer a perfect alternative? That's just not possible lol, there's no options!! That's why he's not voting. Sparking a group of people who think similar however can create a movement that can pave the way for new things to be done. It's better than voting for the same mofo's who have been running and ruining the world for years.
