Yes, but they certainly not very common. The most common ones are Mawile and Gengar (obviously), although I wouldn't say they are omnipresent. Pinsir is very threatening and you shouldn't underestimate him tbh, same with Gyarados albeit a bit less.
Kanga slays, tbh. I really can't do much about it and it ends up taking at least one of my Pokemon down, my Gliscor is essentially helpless against it.
I'd say train one. Medicham is nice but if you predict it you can make the HJK fail and it's pretty much dead right there, not the greatest choice.
