All the responses in the Halloween thread surprised me. So which is the most local American holiday? Thanksgiving?

4th of July no contest. Canada celebrates Thanksgiving as well but no other country celebrates our Independence Day (for good reason).

Halloween's popular in most English speaking countries, as far as I know.

Clearly you've never been to South America or known anyone that is Latino because Easter is HUGE in these countries, not to mention everywhere else that Christianity is celebrated

I'm from UK - Thanksgiving. Literally never heard of anyone even celebrate it.

Maybe not Thanksgiving though, cause Canada has that too. Maybe 4th of July.

Halloween is not local nor is Easter

Maybe Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day

4th of July is an independence day which obviously would be only exclusive to one country, so calling it local is kinda dumb

Thanksgiving would be the answer and Halloween isn't a holiday but it is local seeing as no one but people in English speaking countries take it seriously
