Remember MTV's 20 Most Controversial Videos back in 2002, when this very site was absolutetrl.net, when MTV was mostly playing videos and MTV News had Iann Robinson (who was fired in October 2003) on its roster.
MTV Most Controversial Videos:
Original Air Date: April 13th, 2002
Hosts: Iann Robinson and SuChin Pak [MTV]; Andrew W.K. [MTV2]
20. Britney Spears "Baby One More Time"
19. Neil Young "This Note's For You"
18. Bloodhound Gang "The Bad Touch"
17. Marilyn Manson "Coma White"
16. Madonna "What It Feels Like For A Girl?"
15. Wax "California"
14. Robbie Williams "Rock DJ"
13. D12 "Purple Hills"
12. Fiona Apple "Criminal"
11. Michael Jackson "Black or White"
10. Warrant "Cherry Pie"
9. 2 Live Crew "Me So Horny"
8. Sir Mix-A-Lot "Baby Got Back"
7. Pearl Jam "Jeremy"
6. Eminem "Stan"
5. Nas/Puffy (now known as P.Diddy) "Hate Me Now"
4. NIN "Closer"
3. George Michael "I Want Your Sex"
2. Madonna "Justify My Love"
1. Prodigy "Smack My Bitch Up"
Britney Spears and Neil Young didn't deserve to be there, Bloodhound Gang and Robbie Williams was ranked too low, Pearl Jam and Sir Mix-A-Lot was too high on the list, and finally both the hosts did well.
Now, 5 Years later, if there ever was a Most Controversial Videos: The Second Edition, there would be significant changes from the 2002 list. Also, since then, MTV has really fell off a cliff, especially moreso since June 2006. MTV News is now starting to hit the slippery slope because Pak was supposedly fired from MTV News.
