I wish there was another chorus in the song, I feel like I need to hear the chorus one more time. It could have replaced one of the "take me to your leader" parts. Other than that, it's amazing

Verses and lyrics are a kind of a mess, but the chorus is soft and sweet, which I can definitely appreciate.
Overall it's a solid song, but as it stands, I think DWYW is a much better single decision. And I really don't see why on earth they were planning to make this the 2nd single anyway?... G.U.Y (snippet at least), Gypsy, Sex Dreams,& Aura are all much much better.
Venus is easily the messiest song thus far, and there's very little payoff in terms of quality. Thank god for that chorus though!

Wow!!! THIS is what I was expecting from Gaga!!! its so amazing!!!
Applause is good but too generic, DWYW is good but too repetitive and there's nothing new or exciting about it. BUT VENUS is the contrary. Is so different, new, exciting, kinda weird, but so good!!!! Is unique compared to what's on pop radio right now, love it!
But there's one reason I can't stand (for the most part) pop music fans. Here is Gaga releasing an amazing original song and ALL some of her fans are talking about is how the song will do on radio and how will it chart. Absolutely pathetic. Music should be about QUALITY, not about how high it goes on the charts.
That's why I prefer listening to alternative music (and communicating with Alternative music fans). Because when an amazing alternative artist releases a song you don't see some fans saying "Ehh is good but I don't think it will do good on radio so it shouldn't be a single". Is so stupid when people think that way, ugh.
Anyway VENUS is so GOOD!! I definitely think it should be the 2nd single, if not the 3rd, cause is great!

At least DWUW reached the #1 spot on Itunes, something Applause didn't do and sadly Venus might not!

People do too much, I agree, but it's not entirely dumb to be talking about chart success on a pop forum. Gaga's album is ARTPOP. She does release in a competitive sphere where single choice and promotion matters. 
But yes, people on ATRL give up on songs they like because of the charts all the time it's hilarious
