Perrie should be the lead singer she's the standout vocalist but gets underused. This is a fact pointed out to them a few times by judges on X factor but they seem intent on ignoring it.

I thought it would be Jesy demanding my eyes, because she does during the lives for sure...but I agree, Leigh-Anne and Jade. Were standout.

The idea that a group needs one lead vocalist is so archaic and nonsense. Is it really too much to handle when a group has 4 vocalists capable of handling verses? The downfall of just about every girl group in history, has been the emphasis on promoting one member over the others, granted it's necessary in some groups...but not this one.

Pierre has the strongest voice for sure but I think Jesy is going to be the one who will breakout with a solo career. Can't keep my eyes off her goddamn.

Perrie being the lead singer would be terrible. They work because they're four equals, a lead singer taking more lines than everyone else would ruin the dynamic of the group imo.

I also feel like they all contribute something to the group.

Leigh-Anne is their weakest vocalist, but she brings a lot of sass to her parts in their songs, especially with her raps.
Jesy is an incredible dancer, and always brings their performances and videos to life with her charisma.
Jade is an all-rounder, she's a very strong and consistent vocalist but is also a great dancer.
And of course Perrie has the best voice.

I think people forget (or weren't around for) the fact that En Vogue never had a lead singer.

I'd say Jesy is the weakest vocalist but her distinctive tone makes up for it
