I have many. But my all time favorite artist is de Chirico. I live for seeing his paintings, when I first saw his paintings at the Met I legit let out what can only be described as a moan and then just stared for a really long time from various angles. It was basically a spiritual experience.
And then earlier this year when I went to the Barnes Foundation, there was several in many different rooms and each was a wonderful surprise.
If he was a contemporary musician he would have had one critically acclaimed era then reinvented himself and universally panned after that though.
I love his work beyond just his Metaphysical era though.
