I feel that she would have to direct a film like "Gravity" (i.e. a film that critics adore and has an incredibly high rating on RottenTomatoes.com) to get proper recognition from the Academy. However, even then, Madonna could get tossed aside. Stuffy film critics don't want a pop star, like Madonna, to succeed in their world.
