Oh and It's funny how you accuse me of "stanning for success" when I was one of the few monsters that weren't rejoicing when the song went #1 in 80 countries.
The only reason why I'm coming for it is because to me it's NOT single material, and definitely not worth being chosen as the single that will represent the album during its release and will most likely be the most promoted single of the era, but clock a bit I guess.

Why should your opinion matter when the general public is responding well to the song?
Single choice isn't about what some internet stan prefers, its about what the market prefers. There was massive interest in this song the second it came out, with no radio or visual promo, no countdown or lead up hype, or even a statement that it was a single. It was globally well recieved to a degree that even Applause didn't see. If you can't see the need to make THAT the second single, you do not have the business sense to be trying to make these calls in the first place.
You have no evidence that any other second single choice would be doing g better than DWUW. you don't have any other options. You're just complaining.

The song literally had a bigger lead than BTW back in the days in some countries, that was obviously because of the pre-orders, which wasn't a reason to make it a single at the last minute and definitely wasn't any indication of the GP's reception
That's why Katy's label for example didn't make the same mistake as Gaga's label when WOA went #1 everywhere after its "itunes payola" like some monsters said...
Anyway, just put me on ignore list !

You know she's a mess, stop expecting anything else. If you want a well organized and calculated PR roll out of an album, go elsewhere. Literally all of her eras have had messy moments and weird releases

I get you, I just think fans are hypersensitive because they want to see her succeed, especially during an era as crucial as this one. I was personally unhappy with DWUW being the second single, not because I thought a song that I've never heard would be the better alternative, but because Gaga gets ahead of herself way too often. Hosting a poll where you let your fans choose the 2nd single was a messy idea but she chose to roll out with it and her fans supported her. Later on, for whatever reason she acted as if the poll never happened and decided to set a date to announce the official 2nd single. On this day she decided to make the fanbase trend every song on the album until we hit the official 2nd single, which later she officially announced to be Venus. She sets up these nonsense twitter spectacles and if people are upset then she only has herself to blame. It's unprofessional to string your fans along like this and I don't feel that " Oh, she's just really excited about ARTPOP" is a valid excuse. But again, these are more of my own issues with Gaga herself and not so much the single.
All that said, I agree with complaints being valid on the 1st and maybe even 2nd day but at this point it's old news. DWUW is the single, everybody needs to keep it moving.

The pre orders don't count for the singles chart. Kworb has clarified this about twenty times this week. The fact that you're saying its obviously because of the pre orders proves that you don't actually know anything about the iTunes singles chart, so you should stop commenting on it.
Unlike you, the people who made this decision understand how iTunes works and actually have a tangible financial investment in Gagas success. Stop pretending you know better when you don't even know the most basic fact about what does and doesn't count as a single sale on iTunes. Be educated on a topic before you try to give your opinions.

But when DWUW dropped MOST of the monsters were wondering why it wasn't the real 2nd single
The time she actually listens to the fans and you STILL find something to complain about. Give me a break

It wasn't so much the switch itself, so much as how they went about doing it.
I'm probably going to prefer DWYW over Venus, anyway, so I'm not gonna complain about it being a single. I just think it could have been executed better. Never announcing a second single to begin with, and then going with the best-performing promo single on album release week would have been preferable.

If DWUW isn't single material than nothing on ARTPOP is I strongly believe that if Gaga cannot make this song connect with the public then she really is over - in terms of singles.
I do not doubt Interscope and Stefani with this single
