Sure she doesn't need the ex's blessing but I think its a credit to receive it. Shows exactly what sort of character Kelly is & infact, all of them involved. Very rare to find ex couple's get on so well, whether its for the sake of the children or not.

When she started dating Brandon, she told Redbook Magazine she gets along with his ex. Brandon's ex has been remarried for over a year and she too is a stepmom now. It's the new modern family and it's nice to see everyone gets along.

3.5 from Slant is excellent. They're usually pretty tough. I'm expecting a 80+ from EW and Billboard.

Some other details from the low-key wedding are trickling out. People magazine reports that Clarkson's wedding band locks into her engagement ring and features about 4.24 carats of diamonds. His band has six sapphires on it "with a story for each one," jeweler Johnathon Arndt, who designed the bling, told the magazine.
Clarkson's best friend, Ashley Donovan, did her makeup, as the star said she would, and long-time pal Robert Ramos styled her hair, helping her get that Maria Elena headpiece just right.
The couple even had the blessing of Blackstock's first wife. Melissa told People, "I love Kelly. I've known her for years, and couldn't ask for a better stepmom for my children. My kids love her."

I was reading some comments from US Magazine from the wedding story, and I swear EVERYONE was praising Kelly wishing her all the best, calling her classy and just saying "THIS is how you do it girl!".
