I've never underestimated her. I'm sure her new single is gonna do great. I just think you look pretty stupid laughing at Roar passing a song that got no airplay, no video, no promo, nothing. It was obvious from the start DWUW wasn't gonna stay at the top.

But you're comparing a lead single to a song that was countdown single until being declared an official single YESTERDAY after the massively positive response. And Roar is absolutely massive, so it's not fair to compare.

Tell me, where in the hell is that song overhyped.

Unconditionally is such a mistake, it's so bad.

Regardless, I'm surprised it's not at least top 10 by now.

I think it'll perform similarly to TOTGA, the sooner it peaks the sooner she can release the obvious smash "Dark Horse".

Ke$ha starting the Cvnt-Pop movemont with her smash album Warrior, and look at all if these smashes following in her footsteps! Wake Me Up, Counting Stars, and even her own Timber. Only the TRU QUEEN!

Unconditionally is going to obliterate, this type of song dominates EVERY fall and it's Katy so I'm shocked that people in her think it won't be a multi-week number one

It's top 20 based on album hype alone. Airplay will sustain it and by the time she performs it a few times and the video is out its game over for everyone else.

If anyone's wondering, Counting Stars was helped by the song being on The Voice, and doubly: It was performed by two contestants in a duet, while being guest mentored by One Republic's lead singer.

Lorde only selling about a quarter-mil last week makes me wonder how non-huge this week's new songs will debut...

many people tend to forget that Katy's singles don't always start out on the top like Roar did
all of her biggest hits were growers

I am strictly talking about their iTunes performance that has nothing to do with airplay or music videos (which were already seen and played in Roar's case). Oh, and have you watched TV lately? Cause there is a Best-Buy commercial with heavy rotation that plays Gaga's song + iTunes banner. Oh, by the way, it DOES have airplay, look it up.

A lead single that already peaked and has sold more than 3 million to date versus a brand new song/single of the supposedly biggest pop star. Yeah, not fair to compare considering Katy's song already peaked.

only I Kissed A Girl, California Gurls, Part Of Me, and Roar all smashed right out the gate but they were lead singles. All her follow up singles took a normal corse of growth and longevity

I haven't noticed OneRepublic was #4
