Why are One Direction more respected than Justin Bieber?
I mean..they have the same age, same target audience..why are One Direction not as hated as Justin Bieber..why are they somewhat accepted by the GP..while Justin Bieber is not respected from people older then 16?
They're not overexposed like Bieber. I'm talking about pre-douchebag Bieber. He kinda crossovers to other demographics. When people hate you, you know you're popular.

They aren't really famous in American media, and that's why they don't have a backlash. The only times they were ever even mentioned were when the leader dated Taylor Swift. They're not a staple like Justin Bieber.
Because they're a group and it is harder to keep up with 5 different guys rather than one. Plus Justin's more interesting I guess No one outside their fanbase cares enough. I mean Zayn smokes and no one makes it a big deal. Justin's caught smoking weed and the whole world explodes.
They're DEFINITELY not more respected than Justin among adults though. 30-year-old men hate them the same.

This. One Direction is not more "respected". They're just under the radar in the USA media wise, so no one really cares one way or the other. Justin has always been a huge celebrity and those people always receive irrational resentment from the public
