I had such a great time with my Wii. It's time to move onto the Wii U now.

This is somewhat dumb.
Sony didn't stop producing PS2's until recently.
They could have scored with a family bundle for a very low price

PS2 was still a massive seller for Sony though even through the PS3 era, so it made more sense for them to keep it in production for so long. Nintendo clearly wants people to move over to the Wii U, which is just not happening right now. Getting Wii's off the shelf will help boost sales of the Wii U in the short term while they try to get more titles out for it.

I still remember my brother and I spending an entire summer playing Super Mario Brothers only to have all of our progress be erased at the end of the summer I got so much life from my Wii

How did that happen?

I had one. Bought it out of hype and only used it for SSBB.

So this means they releasing the wii 2 soon. The buzz console the u ain't doing much for them so it's time.

I have the Wii but I got over it pretty quickly. I felt like it was a sixth gen console rather than a 7th.
I play my PS3 more nowadays.
