Well, first of all, YLM was the the third single, not the second. WooHoo was the second single, and if it had gotten a video, it would of at least outperformed the lead. Same could be applied to Just A Fool. Second of all, YLM was released in the SUMMER. None want a a ballad in the summer. At least we'll know Perfume is coming in the fall or spring, which is an acceptable season for ballads.
Ballads weren't doing anything back when YLM was released anyway. I'm sure WB was just a fluke, and the radio edits didn't help things (esp cause it was an awful edit instead of a good one like Forget You/**** You) if Perfume is catchy enough and truly beautifully written, I think it will do just fine. Ballads have more legs these days than when YLM came out.
Sia is as strong as who she works with, Katy Perry inspires basicness, why else would she get Bloodshy and get something crappy. Sia has given brilliant ballads to everyone else.
