And rightly so!
In September, Apple launched iOS 7 which was a major revamp of it's OS. It brought back a lot of the features found on the Newton OS such as control center and previewed multitasking. But failed to actually include anything that made the OS actually good.
The presentation of the OS is however, quite nice which does however get old quickly. But between 200M - 400M Android users downloaded this theme for Android from the Google Play store that literally made it just like iOS 7 (more so the BETA). Even in apps such as Settings and Phone.
However, Google were quick to respond and removed the theme from the Play Store after it became increasingly popular. There was no actual reason as to why this was deleted, but it would seem that Google aren't keen on people making their Android handsets look like iOS 7. 400M is almost half the Android device total and since 70% of Android devices are phones and tablets, that is a fair amount of people.
I personally, don't like iOS 7 but I use Android because of the free will Google give me to do whatever I like. But if this becomes more of a thing, and Google randomly decide what users can and cannot do, I will be very disappointed.
Another iOS 7 theme has become popular and has already reached 1M downloads in a matter of days. You can download it here.
In the meantime, I'm hoping Google let people do what they want. I understand the whole iOS vs Android thing, but Android is clearly more advanced and shouldn't be threatened by an OS designed for clueless tech people to use.
