They were broke because of that + Pebbles withholding money from them. She also would pretend that she was spending the money on them to make the girls feel guilty. When they went DIAMOND, she told them that The Bodyguard is doing ___, so that isn't a lot

They aren't broke anymore. Toni went bankrupt again because she dropped out of Vegas(due to health problems) and was sued by all of the vendors.
